Fees are set to a minimum so it make and affordable social event for families. You can join this club for $30 for a single or $35 for a family. There is generally one monthly outing plus additional events at the local Lake Anderson for the kids.

The is a new website for the Black Dog Creek Big Game Fishing Club. This fishing club is base in Chiltern in North East Victoria Australia. This club is concentrated on social side concentrating on family activities.

The next outing will be at the Mt Beauty poundage, word has it that this is suitable for both fishing from a boat and from the shore. This is a day outing for the 4th November ( Sunday ). See you there.

Eildon 2007

Off to Lake Eildon we go for the second year in a row and again we were treated by the locals like royalty. If there is one spot that we would return year after year and not be disappointed if we did not catch fish this would be it. Every member who went this year is willing to go back because of the hospitality.

As for the fish, there was not much to talk about. The were a couple of small trout released, but Carmo caught the fish of the weekend being a 9 pound 9 yellow belly, and he let us know about it.

But is it your fish if you did not net, scale or clean it ?????????

Kids comp 07

Kids comp 2007 This year was a better year than last with the weather being more favorable, while no fish were caught the kids had a good time and there were a lot of prizes given out. There was a free lunch for all and a big thank you goes to the Victorian Fisheries and Bluies bait and tackle for there support.

8th of October 2006

Another outing and another windy day.

With the local lake stocked with trout and there were giveaways the kids came with rods in hand. Jake Reynolds took out the major prise of a fishing rod and there were other prises. However the biggest fish caught by a girl was not issued, all the girls came up emptied handed.

Reports from the two boys living in my house indicted that a good time was had and the Bar-B-Que catered by Captain Yabbie was the best way to get their minds off the wind.

A time of writing this report (a week later) fish are still being caught.

Hume Wier 2006

Well

Blow wind, blow.

The forcast leading up the the day was not the best and as it turned out it was right. There was a weather warnig issues for strong winds and as a result the club changed location downstream of the weir wall.

The history of the Wier and weather conditions has been very bad with many a game person thinking that "it will be right" and launching. This often leaves a stranded boat on the other side of the water with a fisherman waiting the storm out or hitching a ride back to the boat ramp to get there car.

So, we fished below wall and this did not prove to be productive. The weather proved to be a key factor with rain, hail, thunder and wind. Only a few members turned up for the event and only one boat was launched and quickly returned a short time later. Needless to say that no fish were caught. Better luck next time.
